Phelps is located in the northeastern corner of Vilas County along the border of Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, and the Phelps Snowmobile Club oversees more than 40 miles of trails that span the Northwoods. Phelps’ trails pass through the sprawling Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest and around some of the area’s most notable lakes, including North and South Twin Lakes and Lac Vieux Desert.
